Leora's polymer clay sculpting tips! FAQ3 - Keeping the clay clean...

Happy new year all :))

Here is my next advice when working with polymer clay, how to keep it clean...
You will see that really everything sticks to the clay and all the tiny hairs (your's and your pet's) will find a way into your nice sculpture soon. So, what can you do to prevent this? First, keep your working place and your hands meticulously clean. While sculpting a wet cloth or baby wipes can help to keep your hands clean. I use rubber gloves sometimes, mostly when conditioning the clay.
Btw. the best tool for conditioning the clay is a pasta machine, you will need two of them when you sculpt "skin" and "clothes". Use one machine only for skin tones, and the other one for the reds, blues, greens etc. because they will stain your skin tone clay badly.

Happy sculpting!
Alex
