New pictures added for little Sakura / Neue Bilder von der kleinen Sakura

The pictures I made earlier did not do her justice, really... oh my... taking pictures is not easy! Well, I tried again and made another set of pictures, they are not too bad, so I added a link in the sidebar. And... Sakura has got a kitten to play, isn't it cute?

Dollhouse dolls want dollies too! Auch Puppenhauspuppen wollen Püppchen!

This dolly I made ages ago, lol! And when you look at her arms, you can see that she has a serious problem with missing bones, oh my... but I love her nevertheless, because she looks so sweet, waiting for another fairy tale to be told...

I hope you like her :)

Hugs,
Alexandra

Anatomie lernen macht hungrig, lol!

I got a gift :)

Another blog member, Cia, from briarwoodminiatures has given me this cute mini web graphic as a gift. Isn't it cute?

Cia sells mini web graphics and more at her artfire online shop. I think her dollhouse furniture are adorable. Look at this bench, I love the farm scene:

Another bench and a cupboard, oak stained:

Leora's polymer clay sculpting tips! FAQ4 - Anatomy

If you want to know what I'm doing these days, well, I'm studying anatomy. And you should do so, too, lol! After surviving the first days reading names like Sternocleidomastoid, Brachioradialis or Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis it is not too bad... sigh! Thank goodness, I will not have to remember all the names, only their form and location... although I noticed that I remember some names, lol!

Cheers,
Alexandra

New kid on the block... Dollhouse girl miniature...

Just finished the newest one, this time I tried to make her asian looking and a real tomboy too, lol!

Leora's polymer clay sculpting tips! FAQ3 - Keeping the clay clean...

Happy new year all :))

Here is my next advice when working with polymer clay, how to keep it clean...
You will see that really everything sticks to the clay and all the tiny hairs (your's and your pet's) will find a way into your nice sculpture soon. So, what can you do to prevent this? First, keep your working place and your hands meticulously clean. While sculpting a wet cloth or baby wipes can help to keep your hands clean. I use rubber gloves sometimes, mostly when conditioning the clay.
Btw. the best tool for conditioning the clay is a pasta machine, you will need two of them when you sculpt "skin" and "clothes". Use one machine only for skin tones, and the other one for the reds, blues, greens etc. because they will stain your skin tone clay badly.

Happy sculpting!
Alex
